Choppy all of a sudden

I ve been playing BF2 since it came out and Ive been able to play the game on pretty much all high graphic levels then about 2 weeks ago the game got all choppy and shutters and lags even thought my ping is low. So i put the settings on medium and low and it still doesnt fix it. My friend has a 6600 and a lower CPU then me and is not have problems running it on medium settings. How do you fix this?

Also I have realized that other people have posted the same problem in this forum and other forums and no one replies to them so I am hoping by posting yet another it will spark some one to really look into this.

System Specs:
BFG 6800gt OC
AMD Athlon XP 3200
1gb of PC2700 RAM
WD 120gb HD

Try updating PB manually. I've said this in another thread but didn't get an answer to say whether it worked or not. Looks like a network issue your having and if your not getting it with any other games and it's since the patch, it could be a PB problem. Let me know if you try it. JFTR I'm not having this problem so I cant say for sure. It's just a hunch.

i tried that and it didnt work. I uninstalled the entire game actully and then reinstalled it without updating and it works perfectly in single playler atleast, and it was still very choppy in single player before i uninstalled. However Iam now try to update it and for some reason the none of the patches will open. It just shows the little hour glass for a few moments then stops and nothing happens.
