Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
It took a while to download. The downloader kept asking for my password over and over. That said I love it.It's a different type of gameplay that many will take time time adjust to.Tactics and stratergy come into play far more. You can't just mine a road or drop a load of c4 and wait.
I think if people give it a chance they will love it too.
All the forums have been packed with "can we have more weapons, can we have more maps".Most of you don't deserve more maps or features.
What do expect for £5.99?Hell i didn't even have to go to the shops.
Money well spent in my view. Thanks EA
So far I can't stand EF. I'm hoping with some more play time I will warm up to it.
- Everything is way too spread out. You are pretty much forced to use vehicles to get around unless you like spending 80% of your time walking and 20% of your time fighting. I hated maps like this in vanilla BF2 and I hate them just as much in EF.
- Plane/Heli whores wet dream. Nuff said.
- Great wall has some potential but it's too spread out once again. Also this map just begs for grappling hooks and ziplines. Having to only climb the wall via stairs or special entry points = bleh.
It should be pretty obvious to EA/Dice that a large chunk of their playerbase prefers urban warfare based on the popularity of Karkand/Mashtuur/Warlord/Ghost Town servers. It's mind boggling to me that they wouldn't include even 1 urban map. Let the jet whores have a map, the armor whores have a map, and give us ground pounders 1 map to call our own ffs.
And en route to said flag, your ground vehicle routinely gets bombed by our beloved jet friends above.
Yeah...that strikes a chord......
The only time I enjoy these maps is when I am permantly in a jet and there are no pilots of note on the other side. Other than that both the Tabara Quarry and the Operation Smoke Screen maps are down there with Kubra 'Zzzz' Dam possibly more boring and tedious than Kubra actually.
Also.....how hard are the Euro Choppers to fly? THe amount of folk I have witnessed concertina them b4 they even take off is uncanny. It is no coincidence that there is barely ever any competition for jumping onboard a Euro Chopper. Making flying these choppers more of a master craft would be fair enuff providing the same difficulty level applied to the MEC choppers......but they remain just the same as in BF2.
So basically u are left with Great Wall of China......which is sort of ok but would never rate amongst the best BF2 maps.
Hmm.....I wonder if there is anyway of getting my money back? This product sucks!
I totally agree with chuchu. Im an infantry man at heart myself but if called for i enjoy all vehicles. I just cant belive there is not even 1 new urban map here. My first impressions of EF is poor tbh. The maps feel so empty and sparce. Would 64 players help?? I think deffinately on the " Great Wall ", that would have potential for good infantry fights. Overall though with 32 players max on these huge maps it just doesnt feel like a war of any kind. More like lets try and find another vehicel to fight with. Shame.....
Sounds as though the people complaining about armor just ca't adapt. If there's lots of tanks the best way to counter it is with tanks. Fight fire with fire, thats the key in many games like BF2
Although it would appear EA has made a huge c*ck-up with how it can only be associated with a single account, you get some pretty good extra content for only a few quid.
If the next booster pack is going to be priced the same, then we are getting a [combined] addon of roughly the same size and qaulity of SF, at a lower price - so it's all good imo.
One question I think it does raise, is would you guys be happy to pay a few quid for a fan made add-on? I personally wouldn't mind coughing up something for the next PoE (for example) :)

Scort.
I may pay for some user-made addons/mods. I really like the IDF mod and would probably pay for it; especially if it had a ranking system. If a mod didn't have a rank system i wouldn't pay for it most likely but maybe if it had a rank system. It would depend.
I would pay, simply because of how much work goes into the mods, not to fussed on a ranking system.
Was thinknig of the last PoE I downloaded, man, that thing was over a gig in size - all that extra content :)
Think the only thing likely to prevent these guys from charging, would be some EA clause (I expect there is something written into the EULA), or the fact it would probably cost more to enfore an anti-piracy system.
Ah well, I'm sure those guys know we love their mods, but if the option ever came up, I'd pay :)
In a month, you will not find many servers with these maps because most of the users will be Vanilla BF2. Just like SF, it started with a lot of servers but they slowly decrease. This pack should have included content for all versions: BF2, SF and EF, then most people would be willing to invest. I bought SF but am annoyed that I cannot not use the grapple and teargas in BF2.
