Doesn't Start

so after having some registry issues last night (a stupid microsoft program) now my BF2 doesn't start. When I start the game the screen goes blank, but instead of showing the EA video the computer just freezes.
I tried running SF and got a staticmesh error x1507: failed to open source file mods/xpack/shaders/datatypes.fx

so i tried uninstalling and reinstalling (twice) with no success

do I have to remove it compeletely from my system (ie the registry keys)?
will this delete my stats or are those saved on the EA side?

alright, I've completely deleted it (including profiles, reg keys)
and I''ve updated my video drivers
I disabled windows firewall and made sure norton's accepting it


ANYONE have an idea?

Give some more info about the graphics card you are using plus the driver you have installed.

Try running a dxdiag see if that reports any problems.

I just got my game to work, but not i cant register my online account. When i click single player or multiplayer it just minimizes the screen aand make my screen go to 800 by 600 resolutuon
