I have just attempted to negotiate my way thru the EA download saga

Why do we need both EA and Gamespy user name and passwords?
both accounts are different. None of which correspond with my BF2 user name???

So i attempt to change my gamespy ID after loading BF2 which tells me i don't have the correct version to play EF, so naively i entered my gamespy ID which i tought that was what was being requested

still no joy, same thing so i realise i need to change it to my BF2 user name (getting very hot under the collar by now)

so i try again and i get this

Sorry, you’ve reached the limit on how frequently you can change your Gamespy nickname. You can change your Gamespy nickname up to 3 times per week.

WTF??? I've paid my money and downloaded it and now i can't play for a week i only tried to change it twice because the instructions are so crap.

I would really like some help and some answers please.

This may be your error. Your gamespy name is your BF2 login. So for example if you log into BF2 as Didge, then enter Didge in that double GameSpy name box. There is no password box for that.

great so what the fuk happens if we put a different name in the damn box. now i have to make a new bf2 account because of this ****.

My gamespy ID ithought was what i use to log into gamespy(call me stupid) and my bf2 login is completely different.

so what do i do now?

unacceptable, are you telling me i can't play the game for a week because of a confusing interface/user error whichever may be the case???????????????????

what has gamespy got to do with it anyway most people avoid it like the plague, i thought i was purchasing from EA?

i would be grateful for a solution.

No, if you enter a different name which is wrong (or if you have multiple accounts on a computer and want to switch between them) simply open up the downloader once you've completed the process and you can edit the name of the account that EF is tied to. If you entered the wrong name, change it. If you want to alternate between accounts, you can do that too.

I wouldnt bother trying to help that guy m8, he clearly just wants to flame, all this is in the sticky but its easier for him to come in here and post abuse. If he bothered doing a search on this subject there are loads of threads covering it from up to a week agin untill a few minutes.

TBH i have been trying to help people all day with EF problems and have got sick and tired of all the flamers and there insults now.

I don't think i did and judging from some of the other threads i'm not alone.

Even if i did i still can't find a solution {and i've searched} to the fact that i can't change my id for a week because of a security preset by gamespy.
