Been running Euro Force on our server for 2 hours now and still can't get enough players to make it go live. People leave after 15 minutes.
Had we been running regular BF2 maps we'd be hopping right now.

I'll give it one more hour, if it don't pick up, the EF maps are coming off.
Yeah, I would recommend uninstalling it. I mean, really, it's been out now for several hours and if the whole world is not playing it already, F it.

PLayed it for a few hours and can say had better spent my money on Beer or other worth while enjoyments. The only postive I see with it is I didn't waste more than 10 bucks on it. Don't beleive I'll be buying anymore booster packs unless they offer more than three maps and a few eye candy weapons that only work on those three maps. Better off downloading a Mod when they start coming out than paying 10 bucks for what most Mods offer for free.

          I agree!!!!

The best booster was Special Forces because:
          1. It added several maps, including night maps.
          2. It added a lot of new weapons (2nd tier BF2 weapons became 1st tier SF weapons).
          3. It added a lot of new standard gear (ziplines, grapple hooks, Flash Bangs, Tear Gas, Gas Mask, Night Vision).
          4. It added some new kinds of vehicles (Jet Ski, Quads, AA Mobile Vehicles etc.).
          5. It changed the combat strategy (ie. new gear allows most buildings accessible.)

I'm probably gonna buy it, Be fresh to have some new maps to play in vanilla, I think €10 is worth that, I'm enjoying spec forces at the moment due to the different maps.

            I'm easily pleased tho :)

I,m openminded about the realism factor of some maps, honest

I quite enjoy Great Wall, good fun sneaking and sniping.

Taraba Quarry, on the other hand I hate with a passion! There's was potential for some great tank battles (similar to Dust Bowl in DC), instead all you've got is a load of sitting ducks for planes to bomb the crap out off nonstop.

OSS, jury's still out on that one, not as bad a Taraba Quarry.

Whiners are the vocal minority, so it's impossible to say that "most people just arent willing to upgrade to EF now". The game's officially been released less than a day. In a month's time we will know how popular the booster is.

Spuddy m8, this is an old argument which can be applied to (probably) all the BF maps which feature air.

                      Regarding EF and aircraft:
                      1. The maps are pretty small and well placed mobile anti air can rule.
                      2. Because of the small area, it's easy for pilots trying evasion manouvres to fly out of bounds.
                      3. The terrain has several obstacles which pilots have to negotiate to avoid a collision.
                      4. Bombers are sitting ducks for AAA and fighters.
                      5. The new Eurofighter requires the pilot to drop his bombs at a higher altitude and steeper dive before the two bombs will converge on a stationary target. This requires a little more skill and pre planning than before.
                      6. If tanks and vehicles keep moving, they're much harder to hit, especially with the Eurofighter.

Aircraft are a feature of the BF series people just have to live with. A little teamwork and forethought keeps the air at bay.

I won't make a decision saying it's a failure after a couple of rounds. So far the maps are fun and have had some great tank battles. If you not good in tanks or aircraft you probably won't like it.

personally, i'd say YES, a huge failure!
                          1. Wasn't this supposed to be infantry not Armour!?
                          2. L85A2 modelled wrong, clap clap.
                          3. Troops sound like some stoned german(no offense) i know many germans, none speak like that. could atleast have people with the french weapons speakin french, german weapons german, and british weapons british! thought i'd finnally be able to play as a british soldier, now im a german soldier with a bad accent with a wrongly l85a2. well done EA
                          4. so are the weapon stats supposed to be atleast a small amount like the real ones?

                            1. No, it's Battlefield, ie armour, infantry and aircraft. I don't recall reading anywhere that EF was going to have an infantry bias.

                            2. Yes, the L85A2/UGL is not modeled the same as it's real life counterpart, but as BF2 is an arcade shooter, this for me, is a minor and inconsequential issue. The most noticable difference is the lack of SUSAT on an infantry weapon, but I can only assume this was left off to keep the weapons balanced.

                            3. It's a fictional European army. Just be glad they speak English.

                            4. Not particularly.

No its not a failure, it's very good except for the Eurofighter. It should be on a par with the J10. Sluggish.

Yeah, did you read that italian interview with DICE?

The head guy at DICE stated that their goal is "Fun" not "realism" and that they may reintroduce video game characteristics into future BF2's.

I think once we start seeing this game become more arcade like is when i stop playing. I chose BF2 for playable realism.

Does anyone remember that DICE interview where the DICE guy compared Euroforce with Armor Fury?

I believe that guy clearly differentiated between the two saying armor fury will be BF2's armor based game play or something like that.

Unfortunatly, i spent 3 hrs last night looking for that interview online. It seems EA replaced it with a "now released" message. Thus the he said, she said, is no longer available.

Anyone have a copy of that pre-release interview that discusses both?
