    How are tickets reduced?

Does anyone know what mathematical formula the game uses to determine in reducing the tickets? Also what are the events that reduce a team’s ticket count? I know having control over a CP. Is there anything else that reduces it?

IIRC every time someone respawns you lose a ticket.

I just keep playig until we win.

When someone dies one ticket is lost. When one team hold enough flags a ticket bleed will start that depletes the tickets over time. This is really basic and you should've been able to find an answer either by searching this forum, looking in the manual or using a general search engine. In the future please don't ask trivial questions without searching first.

I understand this, what I was asking for is if anyone knows the mathematical formula of the ticket bleed.

Actually, this is something that's misunderstood by most BF2 players.
(IOW, Kat get off his back.)

Your team loses 1 ticket every time someone dies. Not wounded, dies. This is why having medics around is a big deal. Revivng people doesn't just get 'em up and moving again, it saves you from losing a ticket.

During assault rounds (one team has an ucappable flag, the other starts with all other flags), the attackers bleed until they can secure a flag. Any single flag will do to stop the bleed. The defenders cannot be forced into bleed unless ALL flags are taken. This means that kills are really the most important factor. It's very hard for either side to take all the flags. The only time bleed is really a big deal is in the opening stages.

The other game types, bleed happens when you control more than 50% of the flags. There's no acceleration for controling flags past the bleed point.

Thanks Wargimp. Do you know at what rate the ticket bleed happens? For example 1 ticket every 1 second that your team has control of more than 50% of the flags.

              Re: How are tickets reduced?

didnt read WG's post, sry, lazy

Anyways, bleed is 1 ticket for every 6 seconds of play - 10 tickets per minute.

On assault maps (Karakand for example), the attacking team has 10% more tickets (110 to 100 on a 16 player map), so that they can endure 1 minute of bleed. Since the MEC army has all the flags to start, they'll have bleed untill the USMC gets ONE flag. After that, bleed cannot be obtained untill someone is holding ALL of the flags.

On DOUBLE assault maps, both teams attack and there are a # of white flags. Example - MashturCity16, which has a MEC and US main, and 2 white flags. If each team gets a flag, its 2-to-2, and there is no bleed. If one team gets a 3rd flag and holds a 3-to-1 advantage, then they will have bleed untill the flags are balanced again. On the double assault maps, holding the majority will give you bleed. If its 6 flags, you need 4, etc.....

And as they mentioned, when you die (NOT REVIVIED), you loose a ticket. A common tactic in matches is to drop a nade on a body after killing them, taking them from "critically wounded" to "dead" If they're revivied, the ticket is saved.

Nope... still fuzzy on some of those detail myself.
For some reason, the exact info is hard to find.

FYI, there's times when it's better to camp a flag than to take it.
A dirty little tactic my squad mates and I hvae been using is to surround a flag and just keep killing people. If the enemy doesn't have speedy/luck medics, you can reduce tickets much faster this way.

                    np man, anytime....

And that bleed time was timed in our server :)

Just to add to it, when you hear "we're loosing this battle...blah blah blah" thats what the CO says when bleed starts. Look at your tik# and you'll see it blink every second, counting down on the 6th second.

                      1:1 ratio

1 death = 1 lost ticket upon respawn
If a medic revives you, no ticket is lost.

                        Re: How are tickets reduced?

                        two points to add:
whenever your team is 'bleeding' for whtever reason
(ie enemy has more than 1/2 or all)
as long as you turn a flag to WHITE
                        you will stop bleeding
(ie no need to fully convert it)

                        and my other question is
(yes - I sort of agree with 1 ticket per 6 seconds
had measured 1 per 8 seconds on 16 man maps - close enough :P)
                        but is the rate CONSTANT?
eg on a get more than 1/2 the flags for a bleed
does it bleed at a FASTER rate the MORE flags you get?
                        never measured that part
                        thanks

                        and btw
bleeding is a HUGE way to get MANY points fast
can really swing the tide - makes a HUGE impact on strategy
usually WAY faster than just killing
at least on our server games - which is 36 peeps on 64 man maps

I hate responses like this when a guy asks a question. Especially a decent one like this. This deserves a big STFU!

It tells you right in the manual. It was a legit response. The guy should have read that before asking in here.

It doesn't give rates or anything other than very vuage information.
