catastrophic failure on install

Shawn or anyone who may be familiar.

downloaded ok,, blown up ok, but on install

it gets to Great Wall Client.zip and i get a

'Feature Transfer Error'
Feature: NewFeature1
Component:
File:
Error: Catastrophic Error


press OK to end up closing out

any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hmm, some other people have posted this problem. I don' think anyone knows how to fix it yet. Shawn?

I get the same Error!

But it does say somewhere to install it on the release date 01/07/06 i hope i'm wrong.

Shawn, i think i found the issue

during the pull of the cache file, i had a disconnect. On reconnecting i was able to resume the file, but the install failed.

I **believe** that while the downloader can resume, it corrupted the file the way i was disconnected.
after cleaning out the account directory, removing the files and then relogging into the downloader i was able to pull the file again without issue. after that the setup went fine.

i chalk it up to corrupt file.

Sounds almost like that one file is corrupted on one of the mirrors.

If anyone gets this install error try downloading again. Odds are in your favor that you will pull from a different mirror.

In the meantime we'll keep digging here.

after 3 hours of frigging around, i finaly got to play it.

Just delete the hole Electronic Arts folder in your programs (not the EA Games one) the other one and start all over again.

NB: don't forget to change your nick name to what your BF 2 name is in the downloader.

this is a quote from ea but that ant posible i have seen peepes on bf2 servers playin china wall and other maps so wat is goin on grrrr im gona ask EA they must no the answer !!!!!!

I have the same problem. I tried deleting the EA folder and starting over, but the downloader does not let me download euro force again. Did you reinstall the whole game or just the downloader?

go into add/ remove programs , unistall EA downloader & reinstall it , then redownload game . fixed that error for me !
