CD Key (not about invalid a cd key)

I've installed BF2 on my bros comp and used that .bat thing in the BF2 file to find out what the CD-Key was, when I did it I got x9329 or whatever then a huge script of letters and numbers, what part do I use for installation?

If you're trying to install BF2 onto 2 computers with 1 copy (i.e. a 'free' copy for your brother), then stop right there.

Besides, the CD key should be printed on the back of your manual...you DO have a manual, right?

No, I'm trying to get my CD-key. It started out by I installed the game on both of my computers (my brothers and mine) and I lost the manual, and I uninstalled the game on mine, so, I'm installing it again and I used that method sticky in the main BF2 forum to try to figure out what it was again.

Thanks and yeah, but I did that already and I got a whole mess of numbers, and I have no idea what part is the CD Key.

it should look something like this
          XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX

contact Ea for a new Cd key if worst come to worst.

You can copy and paste the whole thing into the registry that way...it is encrypted post v1.03.

It is to prevent people from stealing your key.

If you cannot install without a valid key, then I suggest you either:
            a) find your manual
            or
            b) contact EA and purchase a new key (http://support.ea.com/cgi-bin/ea.cfg...ted=1094762905)
            or
            c) install via a grey method involving a ****** and then copy and paste in the encrypted key after upgrading to v1.21 (which I do not recommend)

I wish, but it came out to like 200 random numbers, and thanks.

That's because it's encrypted. You can't enter that number when you install but you can paste it into the registry after installing as Talus mentioned. Doesn't help much if you don't have a key to install with but would be useful if you had two copies and wanted to install on two PCs but lost one of the keys. You may also be able to get the key (or a new key) from EA if you can give them the encrypted version.
