Anyone remembers the ultimate kit in BFV (1.0)?
Knife, Pistol, M60, S.A.W., and even a Medic Pack on some maps (+ magnum pistol).

They might even had grenades, not sure.

but what if the enemy has a paddle?! chuck norris only weakness. u need something else, you need to put Steven Segal into ur equipment!

How about something besides a dumb 9mm. That hardly qualifies as a combat weapon! Give me a silenced Glock .45! Aside from Knife/Pistol, the G36E, but with a full-auto option for close-range, Health, Ammo, Claymores, Grenades, Zip Line.

put 4 of those in your kit with a knife and pistol and i guarantee you will never touch the knife and pistol.
