    the long road to happiness

Ive been playing BF2 since the demo was out. Never really got the gaming experience I wanted out of it. Still loved it, but there was always less than optimal frame rates etc. Well I suppose a lot of it was down to weak hardware (128mb 9800).
SF came along and broke my heart and my game. Maps became unplayable. I basically gave up and waited for the patch. Just before 1.2 came out I got myself a 7800 gs. 1.2 was a bit glitchy, but 1.21 has arrived and now I play the game in its full glory. Excellent. Engineer is a fun class again. Got Sergeant Major last night and the new sniper rifle. Thats it for chasing points (I always went for flag captures/defence and RT/MG Heli kills). Now I want to find a good friendly server/clan and explore group tactics etc.

With all the pi$$ed off folks about, I just wanted to add that someone is more than happy with the game. The 360 is gathering dust with no reason to play (Well apart from GR3 that just came in the post)

Yeah, I just got a new comp and it is a whole new game. No lag, speedy loads, a quick 2-4 points at the beginning of every round, and did I mention no lag?

I know the pk has been messed up, I used it myself for a while then got fed up. I think the non-FF mines are a counter to the effectiveness of armor on aircraft-less maps. The claymores can be annoying but ffs, this must be a seriously difficult game to balance. Im enjoying it more than ever, but I dont take it too seriously. The thing I love most about bf2 is the variety of things that you can do at any time. Jumping from an exploding helicopter into a tank to take out the AA that was killing you then taking the flag it was guarding etc.
