When do you level up?

I played quite a bit of BF2 this evening, and passed the 500pts mark (536). Also, my pts to next level bar is full. However, I'm not receiving the higher class. How come? I tried disconnecting and reconnecting, but still nothing.

The progress bar is broken. Use a website like http://bf2s.com/ to see your actual progress.

It takes time to update. Also, normally I hate when people say this, but use the search feature, theres about 20 posts a week on this. For your reference: http://ubar.bf2s.com/ranks.php

Restart BF2 and get a point, see what happens.

sometimes it takes a while for the server to get those points and actually use them to rank you up. I'm not sure how it works exactly but if you wait a day you'll for sure have it by then.

Do what this guy says, rejoin a server get a point and you should rank up. Thats what usually works.

I guess the term applies.
This ain't no RPG tho. Atleast, not without rebels on SF maps.

And yeah, this always happens. You will never auto-rank up while on a server. You need to get the required points, leave the server and re-join to get your rank.

It's an odd and not well understood BF2 issue.
