A quick and easy way to make "connecting to account server" go quicker.

Some people have been complaining about the time it takes to connect to your account server when you log-in. Well, here's what I came up with:

First, make sure you know your account's password.
Next, start up BF2 staying on the log-in screen.
Then, select your account and click "manage accounts".
From there, delete your account.
Now, go back to manage accounts and click retrieve account.
Finally, enter in the required information and when you connect to your account server again, it should load much quicker.

I'm just guessing, but all that probably does is clear out your server history. It's just as easy to do by hand with your favorite text editor I would think. <shrug> (That's what I do anyway. :p)

Edit: By "server history" I meant one's list of favorite servers.

Yeah I would have thought that it's kind of a fresh start to the memory.

Also NOTE: When you retrieve your account back, you will have to set your controls back to whatever they were if you changed them. You will also have to edit your video settings, sound settings, ect.

And those with very very very detailed specific custom controls / settings, I wouldn't recommend doing this. :)

But if you play off all default, go right ahead.

Yeah when I told my friend about this he got really mad because he practically had changed every single key to something different than default. :P
