    What happens with... ?

Hi, im wondering how different components affect how BF2 runs. Im guessing the main ones are:

    CPU
    CPU speed
    Dual core/ single core

    Ram
    Lots of Ram
    Fast Ram

    Hard Drive
    Speed!

    GPU
    Speed
    Memory
    SLI/ Crossfire

Post your answer like: "Hard Drive speed - faster load times".

    Thanks :)

Well each thing sometimes affects different aspects, but Ill give you basic answers.
RAM: Size of map (ie. 64, 32 player), and also graphic settings, the more ram you have the higher most settings you be able to play on with better FPS. Also, faster load times.

Hard Drive: Load Times (RAM also helps with load times)

GPU: The Graphic settings, as well as the FPS you get at those settings. AA, Lighting etc.
SLi really does two things, A. gives you higher FPS depending on the current setup, and gives you more stable FPS at higher resolutions, such as padt 16000x1200.

Processer: Basically contributes to overall FPS. If your Dual Core works well with BF2 then you can set one core to bf2 and the other core to background processes. It doesnt really change what settings you can play or how big the map, it just overall contributes to FPS. The better the processer (to a certain point) the better FPS you will get. Other than that if you have integrated sound, theh CPU also controls that, so playing at High Sound settings with crappy integrated sound will slow you down.

Sound card: takes sound load of CPu and boosts FPS (only if CPU was slowing down from integrated sound)

hope that helps, if you have mroe questions Ill be glad to help
also, if Im wrong about certain things, or there is more to add someone else feel free to add.
