Removing Music

is there anyway to remove the music? i put the music all the way to 0% and it works fine when i launch the game manually. but when i launch it from xfire or bf2 autoloader the music plays. is there a file i could delete to disable it?

Rename the music files like you can do for the video files. Not sure where to find them though, but whats wrong with the music anyway?

The music files are most likely in a zip file called Objects_client.zip or Common_client.zip. However, modifying either of those two zips will get you kicked by punkbuster.

ya, the music files are in one of the zips. i tried before to replace the loading music with the bf1942 loading music...ya, wouldnt let me join any servers.

I heard of some dood, replacing the loading music with "mario bros". Im not sure if this is true but it would be kool

Ya you could replace the loading music with whatever you want. However, you wouldn't be able to play ranked or punkbuster secured servers.

Here's how to fix the Xfire problem:

(You need to do this for every map)

EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Levels\Dalian_plant\Info

open Dalian_plant with notepad and rename the file to anything:

music> common/sound/menu/music/load_CH_music.ogg </music>

I know. I use ASE and it sucks to hear that music all the time. Especially when I am trying to listen to my buddies and get an idea of where I might be needed. what's going on etc....

But there's nothing that can be done as far as I know.
