simple request

Could someone throw together a flat map, no bells and whistles, with one spawn point right next to a helipad? I am trying to use bf2 in combination with a dual shock gamepad to practice flying helicopters in the flyby camera mode. This in theory will help me fly my radio control helicopter that I keep crashing. The maps in game work OK, but it is a hassle to have to spawn, run to the chopper, and then worry about the bots trying to shoot me down too. If there is a map out there that would be suitable that would be ok too. Thanks for any consideration!

Well it's easy enough to do, but you could download my rangerevb map which has many heli's and lots of other things to practice. But as far as bots go just go to multiplayer, create local and you won't have any bots.

I made it with 2 heli's so you wouldn't have to wait for one to respawn when you die. I can make changes if you need them. It is an exe file that should run you through the installer and put it in the right folder.

Well let me just say how much I appreciate the effort, however I am having some trouble launching the map. I create a mulitplayer game add the map helipractice to the list, and when I push join game it crashes to desktop. Let me know if there is something else I should do. By the way, if you end up editing the map again, maybe you could throw in a few oil towers like in a big triangle or something.

hmm, crashes eh? What are your graphics settings in game?

I can add oil towers if you like, but then you would crash into them :)

Let's get this version working for you first and then worry about adding things.

It might have something to do with your lighting settings, I thought I ran it on high and it was fine, but I will test the different light settings tomorrow and firgure out which one works. Sometimes custom maps only load if you have settings on med or high. You can try and check that.
