Less unlocks=blazing load speeds!

I just started a new account because I was sick of the name on my old one.

It used to take 45-60 seconds to connect to the account server when logging in (I had 16K points or so). Now, with this new account, it's like five seconds. It's literally unbelievably fast now.

So I'm thinking it's because there's almost no information for it to retrieve since I don't have any unlocks or something?

It'll be interesting to see if the log-in time increases as my points increase.

Anyone else experience this?

its ur favorite list that makes it take long, just delete ur favs and u will load faster

The amount of memory a few extra weapons require is minimal and will not effect loading times that much.

It queries each server, one by one. The more favorites you have, the longer it takes to log on. :)

That, and the account system isn't that great.

EA did mention that the limit on only 2 tiers of unlocks was due to RAM issues. But it doesn't make sense because even if you don't have the unlocks you still should load them because others are using them...interesting....


edit:
didn't read the bottom....that makes sense it's the server list. When I did a reinstall don't think I noticed much of a difference though....

yep. I can agree with that. Just found that out earlier. Went into the general.com file and removed all the addserverhistory (whatever it was called) lines and tried it.

I use ASE, and it's FASTER with those favorites gone. Before, it would take close to 3 minutes to get in game ready to play from ASE.

Now, around 1 minute.

launch game with xfire, u login instanly, its confirmed by 2 person. so give it a shot, but u cant launch sf with it cuz it use the same engine that bf2 vanilla do so xfire cant find it.

remove favourites form your profile cfg(wherever the favourites are stored) i think it is and make it read-only. that'll speed it up severely too

I have 3 servers on my favorites list that read undefined. I have repeated deleted them and tried to clean the list up to have a maximum of like 3-5 servers. I cannot get rid of the "undefined" servers. Every time I play the game they seem to show up. Any suggestions on how to wipe them all, aside from doing it one by one?

The whole favorites feature is pretty lame and sloppy, and the account server is pathetic.

I want to get rid of those undefined things too, i have 3 of them.

it takes quite a long time to load sometimes, worst is when you load and the game ends right away. Usually it will take me about 40 seconds to join a map but after that on round reloads its less than 5 seconds
