Re: Kicked and baned for kniffing
I am also one of the admins at Krackhouse.
I was on duty early this morning for a couple of hours but was not ingame I was monitoring with the remote server manager.
I have seen you on our servers before but I can't honestly recall if I was the one who kicked you.
I did kick a couple of peeps this morning and handed out a couple of 30 minute bans.
I'd like to make folks aware of something. When we are admining with the server manager and are not in game we only have a limited amount of info to work with.
All we can see is the text chat that is going on. The scores of the players and how many TKs, kills, deaths, time on the server and suicides and this info comes to us on a five second or more delay.
I do recall kicking someone then changing it to a ban. Here is the circumstance that happened. But I can't remember the players name.
The round was going well, a player had 3 TKs with a negative score and someone was yelling WTF is there an adimin on board. So I gave whomever it was a kick for teamkilling, while I was doing this he went to 6 TKs so I backpedalled and made it a 30 minute ban. This is a justifiable reason for kick/ban based on the info I had in front of me. If you were the person in question then you deserved it.
As far as I know there is no admin at the Krackhouse who would kick just because he is getting owned by someone. We are all mature people and would not put up with admin behaviour like that.
I don't know about other servers but we at the Krackhouse try to ensure our admins are fair minded and mature. Occasionally mistakes are made but they are honest mistakes. The program we use is'nt perfect nor is the BF2 game itself perfect.
Consider this the red/blue bug which still causes headaches to us all in game. An admin watching a players score go south with multiple TKs has no choice but to kick the offender even though the player would swear he is killing enemies.
A word of advice to all players I and probably other admins get a lot of info from the text chat. So to give credability to yourself after 5 peeps die from driving over your mines text chat Im sorry you did'nt see miy mines or something to that affect.
A simple "Sorry" will avert many kicks from admins who are not in game but are watching the text chat. And it's the polite thing to do.
