Hey, i was wondering how to remove a current driver so i can get the latest ati drivers.

Control panel, Add/Remove programs find the driver and remove.
You'll have to restart your computer, when the founds new hardware found window pops up hit cancel (comes up twice cancel both times). Now install the new driver.

NOTE: Some people, who try out every new driver that comes along use DriverCleaner found at Driverheaven.com, but since this is obviously your first time I doubt you need to use that utility at this time.

1:download New Driver

2: Download driver cleaner pro. (google driver cleaner pro)

3: Un-install old driver (control panel> ATI drivers)

4: after restart, open driver cleaner and clean the ATI

5: Restart, Install new Drivers.

Hey, i was wondering how to remove a current driver so i can get the latest ati drivers.

install/uninstall any ATI drivers.

* Step1: Goto your control panel and uninstall the ATI drivers AND ATI Control Panel, if your using modified Drivers, then uninstall those as well.
* Step2: Download Driver Cleaner
* Step3: Reboot into safe mode, (hint: press f8 right before windows starts loading, hit it multiple times and choose "Safe Mode when it shows)
* Step4: If u have modified drivers that include its OWN driver cleaner, use that FIRST, THEN use driver cleaner and clean all the drivers u don't need.
* Step5: Use CAB Cleaner ONLY if you are uninstalling Modified Drivers to go back to using Catalyst Drivers(in driver cleaner menu)
* Step6: Remove files from recycle bin if their are any
* Step7: Restart into windows and install your new drivers. Press cancel to any requests to install drivers for your video card, install them from the downloaded Executable file.
* Step8: Reboot.

What he says but also ati do there own driver removal tool! the link for it is the same place that you get the driver from, always worked for me in the past, gets rid of all and any remnants of the previous driver.

I use Widkidone's method, since I try most new driver and mod drivers that are released. A year ago it seemed like I was trying every new driver, I've slowed down since.
Always use drivercleaner in safe mod.

But judging from the original posters question I don't think the driver cleaner is necessary, since it would only add confusion for somebody who never even tried a simple un-install and install of a video driver.

I just installed the X-treme driver and I was wondering if I should uninstall the Nvidia driver

When i remove my Drivers and re-boot my PC always tells me about my oboard old vga graphics card aswell. In my Device manager i appear to have two drivers installed aswell radeon 9800 pro nad radeon 9800 pro (secondry).

I tried uninstalling both yesterday and had such a drama when it came to the re-install that i did a system restore. I'm back at square one.

i use both drivers (Omega Drivers and Warcats Drivers). Both are good drivers. Both will be release soon based on the Catalyst 6.3

you need to disable the onboard graphics in the bios champ, you dont need the onboard running if you have a card in the agp/pci express slot. you need to go into the bios and its under advanced chipset features!
