Installed 1.21 and cant connect to account server

Anyone else having this problem? Seems like every patch intorduces new problems for me.

Others are reporting this also, it may be there is a problem at with the EA account server.

If you have a firewall enabled check that bf2 has access allowed,cos when you install the patch bf2 get modified so the fw wont allow it,it thinks its a new program.hope this helps.

I am right there with you buddy!!! BF2 is definitely the best game I ever hated!!!!!!!

Every new update brings up new bugs and it angers the s**t out of me.
I just spent the entire February with the PunkBuster support, because
PB kept kicking me every round after 2 minutes. Finally I could play again for a week or so, until last Saturday. Since then I suddenly couldn't connect to the account server anymore. It says "server refuses connection". That happened before, but just for a few hours or a day max. Now it's been 3 days.....

I checked for Spyware, etc, but nothing. Feel a bit worried to open Firewall ports, but will try this next.

But it worked for a few days after 1.21, then eht problem came up.

Yeah this is starting to p!ss me off if EA doesnt fix this problem soon, Im gonna just have to play Americas Army.

Lets stop the EA bashing and just see if we can find a fix.

The problem is not firewall related because I am able to log in in Project Reality. But I am unable to login on BF2 I have a fealing it has something to do with calling the stats servers.

Sweet just remembered to allow Norton to allow the new 1.21 BF2 now it works like a charm again :)

Uuuummm Norton Internet Security, Go onto Open norton internet security if its in the toolbar so it brings the main screen, go onto personal firewall on the main screen, and there should be a box saying configure, click it and then on the tab of the window that comes up go to programs and remove the BF2.exe, then once its gone from that list, add it again :) Hope this helps
