Re: Playing EuroForce without EA downloader?
You can play Euro Force with the EA Downloader closed, but if your on about buying and getting the product, it's from the EA Downloader only. Even if you get a boxed copy it's only got a piece of paper with a code on it.Comment

Re: Playing EuroForce without EA downloader?
It's that I noticed the screenshots and he had the EA Downloader opened to play the game...at least is what I seen.
Does a desktop icon get created, or can you only "run" it from within the EA Downloader software.
That is what I was getting at!

Re: Playing EuroForce without EA downloader?
It will be like SpecForces expansion that was on EA Downloader:
1. Download the game via EA Downloader
2. Install via EAD, creates desktop icon
3. Play EuroForces via desktop icon like normal, EAD is closed
All files are installed like normal under in Programs directory like
most modern games. The only thing I've noticed that's negative
is the fact you cannot backup the game to disc, all installs must
be downloaded from EAD. But you can get creative..Comment

Re: Playing EuroForce without EA downloader?
enfo/kaheiyeh: Actually it is associated with one: the EA account from EA.com.
fyfet: You could also say that about a bolted-down, secure automobile inside huge kevlar cube. But I'd rather have my physical product so I can do what I want with it i.e. backup disc or [automobile] drive it. :p I'm going to have to agree with redrider on this one, prefer a CD esp. after BF2 patching problems and reinstalls.
Twisted: Oh, I don't have EF yet, good to know. Guess there's no icon because it's not an expansion, just a booster.Comment

Re: Playing EuroForce without EA downloader?
That is what I wanted to know! :)Originally posted by Twisted-Just to clear things up there is no desktop icon either, you just launch BF2 normally and just find a server running the Euro Forces maps.
So, if someone doesn't download the EF booster, then they will not see the servers running the EF booster?
If so, then that would make the most sense.
Since this is a booster pack (small addon) are there cd-keys? I would think so, I'm just trying to see if it will be worth my 10$ to buy it. If there is a cd-key I will buy it, if not, then I'd rather not fork over money and be left with the doubt that anyone else can play with EF without having had to pay for it...(copy/paste/burn to other PC)??
