    BF2 Login vs. EA Login

I remember seeing a thread from someone that got EF already that said they were having problems because the name they used to register to buy EF at the EA website was different than their BF2 login. I tried to register at the EA site and it says my username is already taken. Am I going to have problems if I register at the EA site with a different username than the one I use for BF2.

Anyone that has EF already I would appreciate your input, I havent used the EA downloader for anything yet.

    Thanks in advance.

You won't have any trouble. Though it is a little annoying to have to sort. Once you have registered and bought the booster pack there are 2 white boxes with no explanation for them. You can use these to enter your BF2 account. Or if you get beyond this point and have EA downloader installed and EF downloaded you will see this:

If you click on Edit gamespy nickname you can change the BF2 account online.

Hope i explained that ok. Basically yes you can change i created a new account with EA to download and then later changed the download to the correct BF2 account using EA downloader.

      1. Use your ea.com account to login and purchase. You don't have to make a new one if you have one already.

      2. When purchasing it will ask you for your BF2 login nickname. Just enter the nick you want to apply EF to. You can change it later if you change your mind.

      3. Download using the downloader. Make sure you don't have your downloader logged into a second different ea.com account. I did that without noticing and thought I broke it.

      4. Click install in the downloader when it is ready.

      5. Play the game normally. You don't need the downloader open, running or even installed at this point.

note: If you want to backup your download to CD then go to C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\EA Downloader\cache\accountname\ and you'll see it there. You can re-download as many times as you like via the downloader though so this is just for you hardcopy fanatics.

hey shawn, can this nick be anything, or is it essentially a new bf2 account for EF?

does it need to be the exact same as our current name for BF2/SF to use the same ranking system and account?

I have had a pogo.com account for a few years now, and any time I visit any EA site that is the one that I use. It even shows my pogo screen name in the Downloader.

I hope they have extra bandwith ready to add if needed.
I do not want to spend alot of time waiting to download Euro Force 380 megs should not take that long that long as I recall SF only took 30 min and that was 1.2 gb. As for payment method I'll use a visa gift card like I did for SF. Does any one know what time it will show up? Hopefully 12am EST 03/15/06 would be nice.
