Same. EA hasn't nerfed it yet, because the hotfix patch dealed with mostly game-destroying issues.

Pfft no it's not. The scopes and effective range of any of the bolt-actions beats it hands-down, especially when taking out enemy snipers.

It is overpowered though.

Think of it as a short-ranged automatic sniper rifle, with infinite ammo. I say short range because its lack of a scope makes long-range snipeing extremey hard.

Pfft, go have a shootout with a good sniper at 200m+ range and see who beats who. You won't even be able to SEE the sniper with your piddly iron sights.

Let's do the math here:

Sniper: 5x scope, 0.005 deviation (for M24/L96A1, M95/SVD/Type 88 is 0.01)
PKM: 1.5x iron sight, 0.1 deviation

Accuracy wise a sniper rifle kills the PKM, there is no comparison at all, the PKM has 20x the deviation of the most accurate BF2 sniper rifle.

That video from planewhore shows the optimum distance for a support rifle, 50m - 100m is perfect for mowing down troops. Don't think that it's a substitute for a sniper rifle.
