? not sure what you mean.. If you have a Wide Screen and the right card you dont need to spend anything. That artical was telling you what you COULD have if you WANTED to. Not like you could go home watch your crappy 4x3 rca TV and see HD quality resolutions. You would then need to spend money. Its not needed just like HD TV is not needed to watch regular crap. Good link tho!! LOL

Those new cards are able to play at higher resolutions than current cards, that's all. Other cards will play in widescreen, just not at the extremely high resolutions like on a 30" screen. Other widescreens will be fine with current cards.
