Issues with Studder lag- LOOK HERE

    Hi guys,

Im starting a thread concerning the ****ty patches that EA has release, I for one refused to reinstall a full game that worked fine, simply because EA does not know how to patch things. One of the key things i noticed is that when im simply running, it shows the sprint animation all jittery, although im not sprinting.

After reading over several pages, i have tried each persons "solution" and none have worked.

I also wanted to add that i patched to 1.2 without any lag at all, played 1-2 days, after that the lag started.

I noted something odd just now though, i boosted all my settings to High with 2x AA and im getting an average of about 60-70 FPS on Single Player.

These are the measures I have taken so far:

    -Updated Punkbuster
    -Update Patches
    -Got new video drivers
    -Updated DirectX
-Turned settings to LOW and 800-600 Resolution
-Changed interent connection to Cable not TI (not a biggy, but still noted)
-Went into the preferences folder (My Documents) and removed all the preferences there, remade them.

There are a few more but nothing has worked, and I refuse to install, i should not have to because EA or DICE, whoever it is, are idiots.

Please post any suggestions you may have here, or your experiances, I urge you to test single player if you have the same problem as me.

    My Comp Specs:

    Athlon 64 3400 Socket 754
    2 Gigs PC3200 Ram
100 Gigs Free space on WesternDigital HD 7200 RPM
nForce3 mobo (dont know the exact name)
    4 10MM Fans 2 12mm Fans
    6800 Ultra 256 megs AGP

I would consider re-installing the game, seems like its a bad install which turned ugly

I agree. Re-install and download the FULL v1.21 patch (available on FileFront) to avoid any type of conflict.

I also had serious issues with stuttering gameplay, only a full reinstall of a Win XP SP2, all new drivers and BF2 right afterwards helped that. The other thing that gave me a really noticeable performance increase was setting the PB sleep timer to maximum (500 ms instead of the default 20ms).
Open the console and use the two commands: /pb_sleep 500 /pb_writecfg

Also, it might be a good idea to defrag your HD, or even to deinstall, defrag, reinstall. Patching generally is bad for fragmentation as the new patch data is strewn throughout the game files and has often to be put into another place than the original game.

I have the same processor as you, and half the ram and a worse video card.

My game runs fine now post 1.21 (and did prior to 1.2)

It sounds more like a USER error than anything, because your PC's specs are just fine.

When you patch prior to doing so you HAVE to return the audio and video settings to the lowest or defaults. Why? I don't know, but EA states this in the ReadMe which people apparently think means "Don'tReadMe".

Hmmm, well I my computer has just been reformatted, fresh install, used the 1.21 FULL patch, and I'm still having problems that weren't around before.
