512 MB RAM to 1 Gig?

I am wondering how much difference I would see if I went from 512 MB RAM to 1 Gig???

My system:

Dell Inspiron 600m
1.8 ghz centrino
512 RAM
ATI Mobility 9000 64 MB

We don't all have a job / spoiled by our parents...

The weakest link in your system is the CPU, then GPU and then RAM, trust me, you can run BF2 fine, once you get yourself a decent CPU and GPU, with 512mb RAM.

What's your budget? I recommend upgrading all 3 factors.

In case you missed it he has a laptop, kind of hard to go about upgrading.

Anyway to answer you question, if the game plays now with 512 mb, it will play a lot smoother (everything on low, shadows and lighting off) with 1 gb.

Whoop, didn't see the ATi mobility, sorry there. 512 - 1024 made ALL the difference in the world to me, before it lagged like **** in the first 5 minutes, now I get no lag at all

sorry for being an a*s, when i posted that I had just exited bf2 in a fury, becuase of my graphics changing all the time. but going from 512 to 1 gig in my computer helped alot, but now im in need of 2 gigs, to sastifie my 64 player needs.
