Weps, unlocks, and stats oh my!

In the general section of this fine site are links to that basic weapons used by the various forces in the game. I am interested in a table comparing the weapons with verifyable stats. I have seen some nice posts where accuracy of a weapon is measured and compared with another using decimal numbers etc. How does one gather that type of information? Is there some table, post, or site where this type of a summary may be found? If not, where might I collect this information in order to produce such a table?

if you wonder why not to trust wiki, i have something that takes 5 minutes to verify that wiki is a load of bullsh*t

oh yeah, and you can tell it now because accuracies greatly varied, as wel as power, with 1.2 patch, although wiki has not changed.

just like the stats are basically useless for ascertaining the skill of a person, number crunching is useless except for the very basest of numbers, such as how many SRAWs to blow a tank.

and wiki doesnt even provide that.

as with ascertaining skill, each weapon is something that only in game experience can tell, not number crunching.

for instance, the SCAR L is inferior in every way to other rifles. however, in game you can often kill 3 "better armed" people of reasonable skill, something you would not be able to do with a technically superior rifle.

the opposite occurs for the l96a1, which has a one second faster reload time than the m24, which to the EA haters over at wiki apparently represents the be all and end all of BF2, and inrefutable proof that dice are morons.

what it actually is is inrefutable proof that wiki are morons.

dunno about the chart that duck posted above, i only know from personal experience that wiki is wrong, at least in damage numbers from small arms fire, which are the only ones i can verify and care about.

I'd like to see your info that contradicts the wiki. AFAIK most of their numbers come directly from the game files. The "shots to kill armored" is calculated and may be wrong because of rounding error; I believe Black_Duck's chart is accurate for that. The wiki most certainly has changed since 1.2; or do you believe the EU weapons existed before that? The sniper rifle and LMG accuracies, the MP7 damage and accuracy, the medic weapons, etc. have also changed. I hope you aren't using the nonsense argument that because you can do well with a weapon, therefore it's a good weapon.

I think the reason hes saying not to trust wiki is because its editable by anyone.

Actually, this one isn't. Only a handful of people have write access to it (I was added a few months ago after helping them fix a few things). Not all wiki are like wikipedia.
