How can I optimize for best preformance?

hey there,

this is my first post here at TotalBF2. I was curious if htere is any people who could give me some tips on how to optimize my video quality.. I am running a Nvidia geforce6800 gt, and i have to run it on low graphics quality so it doesnt crash. I think it is just how i have my settings but i was curious to ee if there were some furthur setings i could tweak?

i also hate my keyboard, it is a wireless microsoft keyboard. It has preset buttons ofr the F1-12, and it doesnt alow me to use those buttons to switch vehcile positions. It really doesnt matter all that much but it maybe could be fixed. Thanks for hearing me out.

For the love of god. Registry tweaks really don't do that much for computers, in fact they tend to cause more problems then anything. At most you're looking at approx. a 5% performance increase, if that.

Your keyboard should have a "F-Lock" or "F-Function" key, make sure that you do not have that on as that will switch the function to "email" or whatnot.

If you only have 1GB of RAM then down the textures to Medium as high requires approx. 1.5GB of RAM. Also the dynamic lighting and shadows also pack quite the punch. Turn those down to medium as well.

Yeah thats the specs
i figured out the F-LOCK
and im happy
but yeah i didnt get anymore crashes
im running in 1280x720 at 60ghz
and all low shaders and medium settings

your processer could be faster,and your GFX card MIGHT be heating up. I would say medium, medium-high with a GB of ram.

My son got a 6800GTOC 256MB video card and could not run the game higher than medium settings without the computer locking up or the game crashing.

This week we purchased an Enermax All in One 530Watt, and now he can run the game with everything at high settings without any problems. :)
