Info on AT bug, can you confirm?

This is not to report that the AT kit has a bug, or that when a vehicle comes at you and you shoot an AT rocket at it, it usually passes right through the vehicle and you get ran over. It is an atttempt on my part to see if what I had happen to me will work for everyone.
I had a Humvee coming for me, I was going to be road kill unless I did something fast. So I lined up the Humvee's front end to get a shot off and pray that hitting it right between the head lights would blow it up. While in the process of doing this I scooted my computer chair (its on rollers) up toward the desk so I could be more comfortable while awaiting certin death and respawn. In the process I inadvertently pulled the targeting sight down to a point about 10-15 meters (estimate) in front of the Humvee right before fireing the shot. I only saw this after I had fired the shot. I remember thinking "Well thats great, Im dead for sure" but to my amazement the Humvee exploded into a big smoking mass. This happened today, I was able to repeat it 3 or 4 more times today too.
What I am asking, and the reason I started this thread, is can anyone else do this? If what Im guessing is right, maybe the anamation for the rocket is off or something but the main part is this, you have to aim the rocket about one half (guess) the vehicle length in front of the vehicle, when standing directly in front of an on coming vehicle, to get the kill. That would mean that the rocket isnt really going through the vehicle (like the bug, remember)but over the top of the vehicle as far as the code is concerned. The anamation and the actual (coded) travel path dont match.
I didnt mean to be so long winded but I didnt want to leave any doubt about the point I was trying to get across here. If someone else will try (when you get the chance) this out and get back to us here It would be appreciated. Thanks . . . . . . . .Red

had this happen to me too. I've been able to do it normally too but from time to time I would "flich" and think I would miss but I havn't. I also have had a missle run through a tank and an APC right behind it like as if it wasn't there at all but the smoke was still there and I qickly got out of there fast but I still didn't get it I fired right for the sweet spot (right under the M1A2's back turret side inbetween the turret the body) and I missed yet I would of never missed it normally. I am still experimenting with this new update (I missplaced my DVD key and havent been able to reinstall the game for about 3 mo). So far I have been vary frustrated with this whole update and I pray to God that they fix it for if they don't then by God will I will go and personally blowup EA (lol you hate'em but you gotta love 'em the whole love hate relation ship we all have with EA). So anyone else haveing that problim too of the missle running through tanks and APC's and a supposed "miss" from a missle yet it still kills the humvee. I have tried the same thing to a Vodnik but it dons't do that so I guess this bug is limited to the Humvee.

That would be the result of lag, methinks. Here's what happens: your computer draws the vehicle heading for you at breakneck speed, you click the mouse, the mouse relays the info to your PC, your pc relays that info back to the server...and voila, by that time the fast moving vehicle has advanced on the server past where your client side data is reporting it.

Thus, you are absolutely right: fire in front of a fast moving vehicle. Think of it as "leading" the data movement, rather than "leading" the vehicle.

EA did mention they fixed some server/client comms issues with new hotfix patch 1.21. Let's hope we no longer have to compensate for unacceptably slow data input/out over good pings. I played several rounds tonight, and so far I'm happy with AT.

If it is some sort of lag its weird that it only affects the vehicles mentioned with no noticable frame rate drop (I always monitor frame rate, have for about 3 or 4 months now). I just thought it would be nice to kill them (the ones who run me over after Ive watched my rocket go through thier vehicle) and thought other people wanted to kill them too. The best revenge that I could get on them would be to make it so everyone could kill them. But thats just me. . . . . .Red
