Help! can't up my rank

Hello, I have a question that has been burning me up ever since I got 20,000 points on bf2. I now have master sergeant rank but i think i should have first sergeant. ive been trying to get all the badges and i have all of the combat badges except for basic explosives. I have every single basic assault, sniper, etc. yet im still at master sergeant. all the websites i have read state that thats all i need to go from master to first... help??? also, today i was on a server and i got about 17 kills with claymores but i didnt get my explosives badge! what gives?! any help would be appreciated

Same here, had all my requirements and stuff but stuck with Master Sergant rank.

Also I was in the map Songhua Stalemate as Spec Ops using C4 exclusively that round (C4 buggy) and only got my basic explosives badge after my 24th C4 kill!

you need the basic BEFORE you hit 20,000 if you don't then you will never get to 1st sergeant http://ubar.bf2s.com/ranks.php

The requirements are on the page listed. If you do not have your basic badges before you hit 20,000 you will not get it, you get a different rank instead. The explosives ordinence is not required for the First Sgt rank, one of the only ones.

basic is IAR: 13 Kills with any combination of C4/Claymore/AT-Mine and no you don't need it for 1st Sergeant it's the Basic Combat Badge's you need to get

Yeah no badges before rank = diff rank.
