if you have a fresh install of battlefield...can you just run this 1.21 patch? or do you have to run 1.2 plus 1.21?

There should be a full 1.21 patch in addition to the incremental. If not, you'll need to download the 1.2 full patch, then run the 1.21 incremental. Running an incremental on a fresh install won't work.
