Don't do it. If you must buy an mmo buy guild wars. Basically the same game but you don't have to play a monthly fee.

If you like grind fest/item farming all day then go for it. Then become a loser like one of my friends who just plays it all day and whenever he can.

I loathe WoW. Why? Simply because its success marked the end of any future SP Worldcraft games.
