there are NO HARD rules about being switched
EXCEPT you must be dead
there ARE priorities
commander. Squad Leader, Squad Member, Tag Clans
(entered manually by Admin) and finally Lone Wolfs
as there are always many lone wolf in game - they get picked on first - it is done by computer program
if the off balance exceeds the mimimum set by admin
(we have 2) then CPU takes next dead guy - even if a commander

we do it alot as clan members - just yell out on Ventrillo
but to do so in an open game - good idea

I always create a squad at the beginning of the game.

whenever i'm about to capture a flag, before i even get near a flag, i ALWAYS create a squad!

more than 80% of the time, someone will "magically" join your squad.

this does two things:

1. it helps captures the flag faster - especially if you're initally just by yourself
2. it helps you defend that flag in case the enemy tries to retake that flag

so again, if you're not in a squad and you're about to approach/capture a flag, hit the "create a squad" key (mine is the "insert" key) and watch as teammates (those who just died and are looking to re-spawn) all of a sudden starts joining your squad.

then simply leave the squad and do it again...

i have been playing as squad leader for the past little bit and when i approach an enemy flag i usually call for backup if i dont have some already. in alot of scenarios i will also request a UAV and if there is armour i will stay back and call for arty (sometimes- usually is not available). i find that some people (usually decent to good players) will respond to my call and make it far easier to cap the flag.

I think the whole squad spawning thing is crap and should be stopped, its being abused and is totally unrealistic.

i disagree. you get to spwn at flags so its only fair if you make it all the way to a flag you get to have some numbers so you can compete. if more people could play the game at once, id agree with you but b/c of the limited numbers i think this makes the game more fun. and the point of the game is fun. also i think that having only the squad leader being a spwn point is a good thing but you should only be able to leave a squad (if you are the leader) while you are alive, this would combat the rotating squad leader tactic which i do think is unfair and not fun.

Very frustrating to see one person on a flag not in a squad. What does Rambo think they will accomplish. One person may take a flag but a full squad can keep it.

Locked one man squads who are prob just trying to fulfill some girlscout badge req **** me off. I'm trying to win a game here.

That's actually a good idea, but those who don't allready are into a good locked squad are probably private first classers who don't care about capping flags...

Most 1-man squads I find though tend to be snipers as you can request supplies/arty from commander when a SL.
