I've got a problem where I'm getting a ton of servers that won't let me join because it says I've got modified content. Now, I don't have anything modded. I uninstalled then reinstalled. Any suggestions?

Re: Loading Problem
Did you delete the directory where the game was originally installed, too? A lot of times custom files will remain in the installed directory because the uninstall program does not uninstall it. I would try to uninstall everything and then manually delete the Battlefield 2 inside of the "EA GAMES" folder.Comment

I deleted the EA games folder and then just to be extra positive re-installed the game under a different directory (Just EA)Comment

Re: Loading Problem
I don't know how PunkBuster likes to work, but (I'm just throwing out ideas) maybe you had a custom file in your original install and now PunkBuster is being dumb because you installed everything in a directory with another than default name? Again, I'm just throwing out ideas because I would be stumped, too.
...you could always just randomly blame it on the new patch and wait for the next one to come out.

Re: Loading Problem
I really wouldn't care because I can get on non-SF maps fine for the most part. It just irks me that I was actually one of the idiots to buy the thing and now I can't take advantage of the unlocks.Comment

Re: Loading Problem
I know exactly what your problem is.
You didnt patch SF. You patched BF2 but not SF.
Complete in this order:
1. Install BF2.
2. Install SF.
3. Install latest patch.
4. Play game.
The problem you describe has the classic problem that was displayed in the readme as bright lettering, that you need to reapply the SAME patch after SF installation.
So you were patching the BF2 files only, PRIOR to the SF files even being installed. And since you had the BF2 files patched perfectly, you were allowed to play on the net, but since SF files werent, you werent allowed to play SF, UNTIL they were patched also.Comment

Re: Loading Problem
Thank you very much. Now do I have to uninstall BF2 then reinstall it in that order or can I just patch it again after SF is installedComment

Re: Loading Problem
Try patching it again if you already have BF2 and SF installed. To be on the safe side, go ahead and run a PB update, it would not hurt and only take a couple minutes at most.Comment
