    Would a name prefix work?

Can't Dice put in a quick fix of using a text tag to identify enemy and friend before a name i..e ENEM-[monkeyclan]-bubba and FRIE-{monkeyclan]-bubba or does it work on the same principal as changing the text colour?

I mean as the blue/red name thing is still f##ked up?

I mean as they seem to be struggling with having a players name either red or blue, would it be simpler for now to have a prefix depending on what team your on before the players name. Thats gotta be easy to sort out surely MEC or USMC before name

IDK what the complaining about the name tags is. Honestly...I always get enough time to see the name. Or if that doesn't work, I look at the uniform!!

yeah but if your on a 64 player server how you gonna know the name of friends and enemies? what if they've switched mid round? Im all for the uniform thing but its just not gonna be practical and lead to confusion...or else why have red/blue names anyhow?.....Incidentally iv'e never noticed the red/blue bug either

I go by uniform until I am ABSOLUTELY sure that they've fixed the bug...which I don't think will ever happen

Get a black and white monitor.
              Bug fixed!
              :p

No, I don't think a prefix would work. The whole issue is about the engine mis-indentifying people's teams. The prefix would likely be applied backwards too.

i never have any problems, cuz i never get the color glitch, except for once on the map with spotted enemies.

Is it that hard for you to tell the difference? You are making a statement and presenting it as if you are not sure. The bug is still there, but I think everyone has already gotten used to it. I would rather have them fix whatever it is that causes the game to minimize on its own as if someone hit ALT and TAB.

MEC VS USMC, ok, no problem, but as a SF player, the difirence between a insurgent and rebgel player is minimal, and I mean minimal , there isn't almost any difirence .

Also, the BF2 engine and drawings don't alow good recognition , once the player is at medium to far distance the colours are fading big time, and the models of most players are about the same , it's not like in CS where the terrorists have a slightly diffirent model then the counter ter , in BF2 it's more a skin diffirence .

Re: Would a name prefix work?

I was playing a game of Sharqi yesterday and this guy named o'neil (or something) kept on tk-ing me , at least thats what i thought . He had a green tag above his head and everytime i killed him the top left corner said i tk'ed him but my kills did get counted as a actual kill . It was very confusing . When i hit the tab-button to check the scores it also said that he was on my team while he really wasn't.

just wanted to share that ...

A prefix would not fix it, the problem is a sync issue between clients and server. For more info see the DICE questions forum.
