Wake Island is just about good for anything, good flying, good armor comabt, and good infantry combat, its my favorite map.

I was always a fan as soon as it came out haha, just look at my stats and see(click sig)

I also dislike cleansweep its more of like an armor vs armor while planes bomb them all. Unless of course im flying

clean sweep is seriously just a vehicle map...its useless to ever walk around on that map.

The long open stretches on Wake make for good sniping, but the snipers always snipe at the most obvious places (well, really for any given stretch of the islands, there's only a few places to snipe from anyway). Silly snipers, so predictable.

Wake has the single most useful mounted MG in the game. The one at the Airfield facing the Beach. The one facing the North Island is good to a lesser degree because people usually go zooming through there in jeeps and vodniks, but if one team has the beach and the other has the airfield then you're going to get a LOT of people rushing the area right in front of the LMG. You just gotta watch out for those snipers you all are talking about...

Wrong. There are two mounted MGs there, making them the two most useful stationary MGs in the game. I got my Ground Defense Ribbon there.

i really like wake also lol

ive got my highest score IAR (180) in the map..and i agree that it is a good map to knife since you can sneak up on enemy troops from behind much easier

BTW does any 1 know why in BFHQ they dont show wake island W-L stats...at least mine doesnt it says 0hours and no games played .

thats the only map that doesnt show stats too

Oh that's right, there are two there! I know only one of the towers on the north end of the airfield has an MG, but I forgot both towers on the west had them.

also try getting ur explosives badge, if ur PLA, u cna take the hippo and land on the island, c4 the tree area and wait... but of course thats spawn camping!

you can also use claymores..the foliage hides it better too.

I'd love to see a remake of el alamein for bf2.. that map was fabulous in bf1942
