Serious Frame Rate Issues

Okay, even since the 1.2 patch, my system can't handle Battlefield 2 at all. Before the patch, I used to be able to run the game at all high settings with 2xAA and zero lag. Now, I can't play the game on all low/off settings and 0 AA. I get 15fps (at least that's the lowest the game consol shows). I am also on a clean format, so there are no viruses/spyware. If anyone can solve this, it's much appreciated.

2.5GB PC3200 RAM
Creative Sound Blaster Live! 24-bit Sound Card

5Mbit Cable Internet

go to this directory

C:\Documents and Settings\ur name\My Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache

& delete everything in that folder, go back into BF2, choose ur settings, play the game for about 5 mins, then come out, & defrag ur HD, then reboot &* play BF2, hope that helps.
