Could the real cause of the red tag bug be related to missing unlocks?

I was playing the other day and I noticed that all my unlocks were gone. I was gonna reconnect to the server but I decided to just play as is cause it would take too long and the round was almost over. I just barely spawn in the game and I am instantly TK'ed. This goes on for atleast 10 times in a row and finally somone says I have a red tag. Could it be that this is related to the "losing your unlocks bug"? This has happened to me before and I have also noticed that it happens more often on servers that auto switch teams every round. (which this server did)

Hmm... the "rank-bug" (when BF2 displays you as private first class ) has probably nothing to do with it, coz it's happened to me some times, and it's never been involved in any tag-bug for me at least...
