i played the game for like 6 months before i joined these forums and found out those servers even existed yet alone were illegal or what have you.yeah, i'm naive. i would agree though they shouldn't wipe everyones stats as someone could just be wrong place, wrong time. ea should shoot you an e-mail tell you that kind of action is not allowed, ban you for a week as fair warning, and if it happens again buh bye stats, buh bye.

Well, on these 2 servers I saw mostly high ranked players. I enjoyed playing there[*]. I highly doubt more than 10% of players went there after some stinky badges. The gameplay on these servers was a nice break from the dull tank/heli/jet whoring this game is typically all about. And thats all - people were playing there for the fun, and not for the badges.

Okay, it prolly angers some stat whores but when you think about it stat whoring does much more harm to this nice game than knife&pistol servers. A lot more. So maybe you should be a little less rough with k&p servers. Skill was very much needed. And scores were not even close to regular karkand levels - most people maintained a steady 1:1 K/D ratio and finished rounds with 40-60 pts. And people stayed there for rounds and rounds - why would they, if all they cared about were badges?

Okay, it is against EA policy but that does not mean it should be treated as some crime. BTW, there are very nice infantry only servers out there (w/o arty, tanks, etc.). The gameplay is intense there - no whoring, no spawn camping - pure infantry combat, much like in PRMM. Yet, if anyone shared addresses on this nice little forum they would be immediately reported. Is that really ok for a fansite?...

all I keep hearing is that "well I didnt know it was against the rules" when in fact the RoE has been on most bf2 sites including ours for well over 6 months,

Thats not possible. 8 days is 60*24*8 minutes (11520). That would mean this guy killed someone every 30 seconds in that 8 days. I did ~11000 kills within the last 6 ... months of regular gaming! And I played on these K&P server a couple of times and I never saw anyone exceeding 30 kills in one round. Somethings wrong here.

It is pretty obvious he joined this server for awards, look at his stats.
He received expert knife and expert pistol both on March 7th 2006.
