Hi all.

I'm here to ask you some questions about your disinterestedeness for the French Mod "Stargate : La Relève".

This is a serious and ambitious mod and I really think that it's a good idea to speak about it there, but every news about it are not mentionned here.

I have posted one one or two month ago, with screenshots and video, but it never appears in the "mod news"

So why this news are not present in totalbf2.com ?
I am sure that a lot a players here will be very happy to know that a Stargate mod exists...

(and sorry for my english, I am french :p)

Battlefield 2 is an english speaking dominated community - thats your problem

Well I have to say that I would love a good StarGate mod. I've seen tons of them for HalfLife however MGM seems to close them down just as fast as they get publicity because MGM wants exclusive rites to the all forms of media relating to the StarGate product (including but not limited to intellectual interpretations. meaning they don't accept any interpretations of the story for any reasons and will kill any project relating to StarGate proper)

I've only seen 2 mods that actualy got off the ground and that’s because they where outside the legal jurisdiction of MGM which essentially gave them permission to produce their project, however, due to slow production they faded into obscurity...

A large scale Stargate mod is something i can look forward to. If only I spoke French I would try out for a position =P

I went to the web site you posted and like everyone else It was in french and couldn't read it. I have a question for you though. Is there some way you could put some kind of translater on the web site? Reason I ask I have been on other eoru web site that have had the translater on it (Was a dutch web page). Basically when you log onto the your web site it would be in french, but at the top of your web page you would find a translater icon. When clicking on the icon you would be prompt to pick a launguage that you want the web page to be translatered to.

A stargate mod would be awesome - but be careful what you do as it may result in a shutting down by MGM - which is, of course BS, as they just canned a nearly finished stargate game that was sure looking sweet.

Also, as others have said, try and stick it in english.

If you can get the "feel" of SG then It will be an excellent mod, i'm sure.

As for you not being mentioned at totalbf2.com, there's lots of European mods that don't get mentioned here (including ones with English language websites), so you're not alone ;-)

theres quite a big german fan base too, but most of them speak english.... so whatever

I am not part of the Dev-Team, but I will tell them that an english version of their website will be very important for them.
Anyway, I am sure that they will do it, the french website is online since 1 or 2 weeks, they just need time.

If you need more information about the mod, there is an english section in their forum.

So, I think that you will not heard anything about the mod until the release, but come on the forum of their website for news and information, translated in English.

As others said, it's tough to cover a non-English mod, especially considering all the English mods we do have to cover. If you sent something before, I apologize that it wasn't posted. I run the mod news for TBF2 for the most part, so be sure to contact me with the next update. Would be much appreciated if their was an english translation, but if not, I can just post the pictures. Just drop me a PM when you'd like.

wow. some sweet work there, the video is great and i love the layout of the SG command.

Heres an idea for you - perhaps use it as a "Uss Essex" kind of thing, an Uncappable base away from the main battleground and you have to travel through the stargate and if it was on every map (with a few exceptions) it'd be sweet.

Tau'ri will always begin in the SGC

All Tau'ri players will be able to use the Gate'shield (close/open ; it is not sure, but they hope to allow players to shoot through the stargate to hit someone who is in the destination), or to raise the barrier protecting the "room" in front of the Gate (where all computer are)

And you will be able to visit all the stage where the gate is located too.

It simply means :"Relief".
