How can u tell if ur drive can burn DVD's?

In my device manager it says that i have a Hl-DT-ST DVD-ROM GDR8164B and a Sony CD-RW CRX217E. Dont really know anything about them but im pretty sure they are dual layer. Does anyone know if ill be able to copy or burn DVD's?

No, from the looks of it you can't.

It would say DVD-/+RW if you could.

You mean like a movie? Yeah you could convert it to AVI, but you wouldn't be able to watch it on you DVD player.

There is VCD and S-VCD but in my experiance they aren't worth the trouble.
