    Glitchy Knife?

Hey have any of you guys ever tried to knife someone and it didnt register the hit even though your directly next to them?

I got killed so many times because my knife wouldnt hit them.

Also, you can hear the enemy being stabbed but nothing happens??? -_-

Yep, it's the same as what often happens with the M95.

Hit detection in BF2 = FUBAR

I thought it was just me needing to reinstall the game or something...

Ah, so it seems you have been decieved by the famous "rubber knife" prank. You see, while you are loading a map, the people with quick PC's who finish loading first swap your real knife with a plastic one while you are distracted by the loading screen. It really gets annoying!

          lol

Anyway it happens to me almost everytime i knife someone. I usually need to hit the guy twice for the game to register the hit... Thats BF2 alright!

Trying to get Basic knife?, think stealth, hide behind boxes etc, if they spot you run at them and dolphin dive then stab.

Yep, happens to me too - swing the knife, puff of dust and stab sound, but no kill...

Seems to happen less when stabbing while prone.

I once heard a 'cling..!' sound, (like when you are knifing metal) when I knifed on the mine which is on the back of every engineer... He did not recieve any damage but heard it to (clan member on TS)

I have not been able to reproduce this...
But, since he was lying on sand or rock, there must have been a 'metal' part on the engineers soldier model...

                      That's really cool!

Yet if you think about it, stuff like that should only be implemented into the PRMM, not BF2 normal.
