Faster loading maps! how to?

Is there a way to tweak BF2 into loading maps faster?
i have 2 gigs of ram but still it takes kinda long to load maps...
i've heard somewhere that the game has the maps archived somewhere and it's better to have them unziped from the beginning... any ideea on how to do this ? (if it's real) or any other ways to optimze the game for faster loading?
VERIFYING CLIENT DATA takes also a lot...

less than 30secs here to, maybe u have too many programs running in windows background?

and u think that 30sec is FAST?
everything above 10-15secs i think it's pretty slow.
for me it takes also ~30sec but... it's kinda slow i think

Make sure to create a single player game after changing any video settings, to allow the shader cache to be created. This takes longer on multiplayer servers, and significantly increases load times.

Regarding the verification process, that is controlled only by the amount of RAM you have. 2gb of ram will usually make you one of the first 10 people in the server to join the game.

I don't know if verifcation is related solely to RAM, I have the exact same kind and amount as one of my friends and his verification is much quicker (I even have a slightly faster computer).

yeah... this client verification is very annoying... dunno why it takes so long...
in 2 weeks i will get another 160GB Sata2 drive and than do a RAID 0 setup... hope it loads faster.
