Wrong tag bug got wierd .

as you can see on the next screen, this guy is on insurgent team (Me on SAS) , his name tag is green




then on the next screen you see when I kill him, I got a teamkill offcourse



but the wierd part is, look at the score board, he is listed in our team, while he was on insurgent team

I think this tends to happen when both teams create custom squads with the same name and a squad member gets switched or the round ends (and players get switched at the start of the new round).

I've had enemies listed as being in my squad before.

yup, I've seen that before. Kind of nice cause you always know where at least one badguy is since they are "in your squad" lol

But ever since 1.2 i have noticed the name tag bug increased by 100%. I can't go more than 3 or 4 rounds without encountering it. Before the patch I would see it maybe once every 2-4 weeks.

This has happened too me a few times. It's really funny when you deliberatly go after the same guy because you know exactly where he is all the time.

You should try having this happen when you are flying and it shows the enemy teams pilot as a friendly. I played a round where that happened, and at first I'm like "Why is this ahole chasing us around in a jet TK'ing us, and how the heck is he locking onto his own team with AA?" Every time he killed someone on our team it said "Teamkills" on my screen, and in the score screen it showed him on our team. After I figured out what was going on, I tried to take him out but had to use the machine gun to do it because I couldn't lock onto him with missles because it showed him as a friendly. I killed him once and the round ended shortly thereafter, I know it told me I had teamkilled him, but I don't remember if I actually got the -4 points for it.

His name was green, that should have been enough to realise that he is on your side and on your Squad.

Its a lot harder to tell when he isnt in a squad.

yeah...this nametag bug is even worse now. i think i only saw it a handful of times before the patch. now it see it a handful of times a day when i play. it's really annoying.

Yep. Equally fun is when a teammate who is listed (due to the bug) as an enemy gets in an APC or Tank while you're flying. And everytime you bomb the guy, you get -4 points for teamkilling him. ...

I see that crap everyday. It's pathetic that 9 months into the game this kind of problem still exists.

actualy now I see it, he was also showing up on my minimap .

some other facts

- it was like the ths whole round
- I was squad leader and didn't hav a custom squad
- everybody else on my team got teamkills from killing that guy

what's worse is that one one very specific "fix" they said they took care of with the 1.2 patch...yet instead they made it worse!

At least in this case it is not actually a TK... It might say you TK'ed him but you do get your normal 2 points, no negative score...
