How do I use gamespy to connect to a game

May seem like a silly question but I can't fathom it out. I find the server I want to connect to, double click and get the sexy voice saying "launching game"
The BF2 logo comes up and then it drops back to the gamespy server screen.
What am I doing wrong, I would have thought that this would drop you into the sever you have requested but it don't.
Help Please.

ive always found it confusing so i use xfire.

xfire has problems connecting to games because of teh account log in n stuff
