Team Kill Punishment - bug?

So I was playing last night and I try to jump into a APC as a passenger. Nasty bit of lag and then I end up getting run over. I forgive the driver. He then asks me why I punished him. It says I have forgiven, but he still loses the points. Is this a known issue?

Also, where do people stand on punishing? As a rule I never punish - 95% of the time it is an accident. Why punish that? I thing the whole TK/Punish rule ruins the game.

then play on servers where the TK punish is turned off you will always get muppets punishing even if it their fault

Server could have been set to punish as the default - by the time your lag cleared the option to forgive was gone, even though it showed on your screen, your lag did not let the command get through in time.

Punish by default is the most rediculous setting.

Now this is what I got out of all the threads and stuff. Even thou you forgave him he still loses points. The punishment button is only for kicking out of the server. I believe after so many punishments by players then the vote kick will come up. So no matter if you forgave him or not the player still loses points.

So you lose points every time you TK someone? Thats nasty - especially the way i drive :)

Yup that is correct. Unless like the person above said, there are servers that will not have tk. But I have never seen one.

I never said play ona server with no TK I said a server with the TK PUNISH turned off

Interestingly, I had something very similar happen just yesterday. I was playing in a squad of six and one of my teammates asked (over VOIP), "Hey, why'd you punish me?" I didn't even know he was talking to me because I couldn't even recall being teamkilled, much less hitting Page Down (something I literally NEVER do when it comes to people in my squad and rarely do for anyone else). Again he asked why I'd punished him but that time addressed me by name, at which point I explained that I wasn't even aware I'd been teamkilled.

Also, that server's default was forgive, so it was particularly unusual. I just put it down to confusion on his part -- I figured he must have teamkilled someone else -- because any time I'm teamkilled by a squad member, I forgive them immediately and even say, "Hey, no worries!" To be asked why I'd punished (without having ANY point of reference) was a first, that's for sure.

So, who knows? Perhaps there is another bug we can add to the list.

alot of clan servers turn of the TK punish and votes mainly because of muppets punishing for thier own stupidity and trying to vote kick people who are just kicking their ass or they want to be commander at the end of the round to get the double points after someone else has done all the work or just because they do not like that map so they just keep vote spamming

I have a saying,

"If you are in front of my gun WHILE I AM SHOOTING you deserve to be shot."

And yes about 85% of my TK's are from morons. the rest is from me screwing around and killing clan mates for ****s and giggles.

there arent enough servers with tk punish turned off.. at least U.S. servers, that's the problem

I have to agree with this. When I am prone with my PKM or MG36 doing a little work and some guy runs around a corner into the stream of bullets or around me and in front of me, well he usually goes down. When I run down an alley and see and hear a big fire fight going on with bullets flying both ways I don't jump in the middle of it, go around for gods sake and help your team mate by not getting mowed down by him.
