Is euro force realy no infantry fighting ?

I thought Euro force would be more infantry based and armored fury would be the vehicle based booster pack .

But from reading here and there, euro force seems to be a complete vehicle based booster pack.

Isn't there any possibility to fight as infantry in Euro forces ? or is it realy tank here, tank there, jet over here, jet over there, ......

If so, don't get it, comunity asks for more infantry based maps , DICE says , OK, we make two booster packs, one for vehicles one for infantry, and actualy it are both vehicle based booster packs , do those DICE guys even do an effort to listen to us or what ?

Also, if so, why the new weapons for infantry, you can't use them anyway.

But I do know what they are going to say when the booster pack is released :" the comunity is extremely excited and happy with the new booster pack"

    Found this:

Within the next ten years, says Electronic Arts European VP of sales Dr. Jens Uwe Intat, "all entertainment media will be downloaded to a device." This week, though, the road remains rocky. On March 1st, an EA downloader snafu made forthcoming Battlefield 2 (PC) booster pack Euro Force available for purchase and play a full two weeks prior to its scheduled release. For a period of 18 hours, fans including those at TotalBF2.com's forums played via LAN connections (a lack of server clients prevented online play), and posted screens and impressions.

Like fan favs Strike at Karkand and Sharqi Peninsula, Great Wall, one of Euro Forces three new maps, favors infantry over armor and aircraft. In fact jeeps, mobile anti-aircraft platforms, and tanks are its only vehicles.

TotalBF2.com member "xXMMMSXx" likens map Operation Smoke Screen to movie Jarhead-small villages scattered amid vast burning oilfields. With little to no cover, it's a groundpounders battle between armor and the odd A10 tankbusting aircraft. Tanks are so plentiful that players report advancing in formation, four at a time.

Taraba Quarry, the third map, is said to look and play much like BF2's Zatar wetlands-in other words, too much acreage, too little cover for exciting infantry engagement, but open season for sharp-shooting flyboys and APC crews.

EA delayed Euro Force's digital launch to coincide with the release of BF2 patch 1.21 when its 1.2 patch proved troublesome. (Bugs include missile-launching oil stations, wonky Blackhawk helicopter flares, and super-duper defibrillator paddles to name a few.)

At present, EA's plans are to release patch 1.21 on March 10 with Euro Force following on March 15.

If it is to be believed, one infantry, one armour, one s***.

have seen that article, but I don't take it serious,

first of all, how can a map only have jeeps, tanks and AA as vehicles ?? why the AA if there are no choppers or jets ?

Also about the other map they say, bla bla bla A10 ??? The A10 isn't in euro forces , or is it ?

Great wall in 16 player has a couple of light jeeps for EU, and most of them have to get in by parachute drop over the great wall. One of the flags inside a village in the wall sstarts neutral. When China takes it (usually they get it first) it spawns a chinese tunguska (I forget what its called). Good thing for the paratroopers the guns on it are useless against moving targets.
I have only played the small version once, as china. I don't know if a linebacker spawns if EU takes it. But as karkand is to tank whoring, great wall will soon be to linebacker whoring I predict. Lots of cover for infantry though, and if I recall corectly there is a TOW or two around the map.

32 player spawns two tanks and an APC per side, plus a couple of jeeps and such. However, there are only two ways to get armour into the village....narrow archways. Best Chokepoints I think I have seen on any map. You get a foothold in the village and move your armour up, its going to be a tough fight for the other team to move their tanks in. There are, however, broken wall sections so that infantry can cross.

And Yes, I have euro force.

I heard the maps were like Zatar and it made me want to go emo. Open maps and stuff are usually disliked. Everyone loves urban maps. Like the great wall, nice building structure, fun to travel along, Warlord, buildings. Mashturr, buildings, good ground combat.

I thought the range of maps were pretty well balanced...and pretty cool as well-but I have to play it more to form a full opinion

I think great wall is a sniper and PKM gunners dream. You have a entire ring of cover to hide behind and shoot at the players within the wall. Shooting fish in a barrel comes to mind. I have found that the antiair is the best way to take out snipers sniping through the crenels and the armour is kinda useless. The other two maps are all vehicle combat. Operation smoke screen spawns 8 tanks on 16 player. Thats not counting antiair and helicopters. Its wide open and Infantry are dead right away. It will also make life harder for noob tankers because the shots tend to be much farther (about 200m).

Yep, Great Wall is an infantry map, the 32 player map has tanks which can get into the 'courtyard' or whatever it's called but they don't have a lot of room to manouevre, so they're easy enough to take out.

because the AA is so good at killing infantry

Great Wall is quite intense. I played on a full 32-player Great Wall server, and it was one of the most memorable battles I've ever had. Two tanks were battling it out, each with a slew of engineers behind them. AT guys from the nearby buildings were taking shots. There was a rush of support/assault guys towards the flag, being countered by snipers in the two nearby wall towers.

While it's not purely infantry, you can't say that infantry as a whole has been ignored.

I dont like EU that much.

Personally, i hated the chinese maps on BF2. Euroforce chinese maps are about the same. Its such a bland enviroment.

Actually anyone else notice how bland BF2 map designs are? They need better artists!

I really like Joint Operations because you had hidden mayan temples, rivers, swamps, waterfalls, fog, rain etc.

I enjoy the Chinese maps in BF2, OK not as good as the city maps but still great.
