What's hard to understand?, I am in a tank most of the time, I use the MP7 rather than the shotgun because it has more range than the shotguns

The only reason I get out the tank is to repair it, if I get shot @, & I choose to engage in a firefight I risk losing the tank to the enemy, & there is a real possibility that a smart opponent (like my self) will baby that tank to the end of the round, denying my team 1 of our most important assets, & it would be ALL MY FAULT

In Ghost 2 tanks vs. 0 tanks is a sure win

I cannot take that chance

If I "pistol whip" the guy w/ the SMG 90% of the time, the other 10% of the time the enemy will capture the tank, & we may not get it back

Is that REALLY hard to understand?

You are never defenseless at middle distance: P I S T O L. Still more powerful and accurate than any SMG in the game.

Pistol is not more powerful than SMG. That is utter nonsense. SMG has the highest rate of fire and you can get headshot easily if you know how to use them

I don't see anything in your post that indicates how the MP7 is better than the pistol+shotgun combo. You run exactly the same risks when you get out to repair either way. And as I noted, it appears you are BETTER with the pistol+shotgun than SMGs which means you would survive to get back into your tank more often.

You can fire the pistol very rapidly and still hit with most of your shots whereas you will miss many with the SMG (lower per shot deviation on top of the lower base deviation). Pistol also has less deviation for fire while moving. It is quite possible to out-shoot an assault rifle with a pistol, let alone an SMG. At close range where the SMG would be better than the pistol, the shotgun is better than the SMG.
(This argument has been made hundreds of time about AT SMGs vs. DAO-12 + pistol but it is also true for engy now that they have access to an SMG.)

I see where you are not following me

I am not arguing which is a better weapon, I am saying that if I am shot @ while repairing I am pressing E, & getting back in the tank (& take him out w/ the coaxial mg), pulling around the corner, & repairing in safety, or if it is too hot, retreating, & calling for a supply drop

Remember, I am repairing, he has surprised me, & probably shot me first

You don't risk losing a multi-million $ vehicle pulling some "cowboy" move to kill 1 infantryman

You don't get to be #60 in armour pulling silly A$$ stunts

Hell, I have Veteran Pistol Combat, & that pistol only comes out when I am "ground-pounding", & I am out of ammo, or a guy isn't paying attention

I think it boils down to some people are shotgun people, some are SMG people. If it works for you, do it. I usually do better with the mp7, if only because I'm more familiar with it. And I like being able to rarely score a medium range kill that would have been impossible if i had a shotgun in my hands.

I am a shotgun person, but I am also 1 of the few ppl I know that likes the P90

But I refrain from shooting any smg, or pistol @ someone that has already "opened up" on me

They are not "superiority" weapons

I <3 the mp7, its like a personal mini gun in your hands. I will love the p90 too if it has the same rate of fire as the mp7, because right now the p90 is below average.
