    Re: questions about sniping

aw. wish i had the l96, just cause it sounds so sweet. now i have to knife a sniper first and steal his.... and now they have claymores behind them!

i dunno, it seemed to miss at a very short range, about 100 feet for me when prone, but i never thought about waiting hehe.

The L96 is super accurate, i got shot by a guy with the L96 from about 200 yards away and he was standing up. How crappy is that (for Me). Can't stand the fact that the sniper rifles are still accurate whilst standing. Its completly stupid. Snipers have an easy life already so why did they make it so its like a freaking rail gun!

On Topic sniping is a piece of **** the skill is finding a decent location.

      Not too high
      Not too low
      Preferably find somewhere in shadow
Easily defendable if your position is compromised.
Don't try and take on the entire army yourself too. Find a quite secluded spot where enemy movements are less frequent.
Turn on your speakers loud to hear for any footsteps that might be sneaking up on you wanting to knife you into embarresment.

sniper Rifles are designed to be hyper accurate. plus all the relly accurate rifles are bolt action, balancing their accuracy. ALso, just open up, and he'll probably run for cover.

First, I apologize for the late reply. I really appreciate all the info !! I screwed up big time on this unlock ! It won't happen next time, though... From working with the Barrett the past week, I believe now that the "bullet drop" is anything BUT consistent, and there is also an inconsistent allowance for body armor ( depending on where the bullet hits ). With the Barrett, body armor shouldn't be an issue at all. As a matter of fact, anywhere a .50 cal round hits a person, you should be out of the game....I base this on sniping 3 times, against groups of enemy, first being 3 ( about 50m ), 2nd being 4 ( maybe 100m ), 3rd being 3 ( 50m+ )...in total I made 1 kill, and 2 assisted kills....all the shots seemed to be right on mid body. Total shots were 1 ) 4 shots .. 2 ) 3 shots 3) 4 shots ..

          so 11 shots..... 1 kill, 2 assists ...

Just IMHO. Your comments appreciated !

Well, I will keep trying as I love to be sneaky and snipe. Thanks !!!

Yeah sniping is really accurate, make sure you shold down the fire button and an x will appear. Always lead about an arms length in front if they are running. Get good first then always aim for head

ppl tend to over think the "lead" bullet dont travel that slow...but it takes a lot of timing..i practice this by shooting helis flying over by and holding down mouse1 to see when the bullt actually hits..but now in 1.21...i use m95 since its a bit more accurate and it does a deadly 95 damage

Just had my best snipin map !! Played that kit ( Barrett only ) the whole game and got a 32....only a few assists. My ping was between 35 and 50 most of the time.....it was on Karkand of course.....lol I believe your ping and the server you are on makes a difference as well.

                  Re: questions about sniping

I've moved back to the Semi-Auto snipers for Urban map Use. Shame the USMC doesn't have a Semi-Auto to counter the SVD at Karkand. Maybe someday we'll see a Sniper Variant of the G3? =P

The different rifles have their uses, the M95 is a nice tool to hold off the narrow alleys or to weaken AT threats by taking their health down alot. The M24 and L96 I usually use for long range sniping where prescision matters alot, in which cases i'll take the L96 due to slightly faster reload time and thinner sights.

Then again, if you can adapt any of these rifles for different uses, more power at your hands due to familiarization with the rifle
