ok. i thought i'd take a step up from my old live value. i got an audigy se. well after all the instalation and looking for driver updates (which there weren't any) i started up BF2. it sounded amazing. then i got onto a map. all the voice overs from the game were al choppy. i turned off all the bells and whistles from the card. but it was still super choppy. i turned down the audio quality in the game and truned eax off...still choppy. anyone got any suggestions?

Its probably not the problem but you can check whether your BIOS has activated your onboard sound? Thats if you have it anyway? -

Hate to tell you this, but your old Live is a actually a better card than the Audigy SE. Let me guess, you tried running the game in hardware mode. Hate to tell you this but the SE for the most part is a piece of garbage. You old live has the EMU10K1 cihp on it and the SE doesn't (EMU10K2 actually that is found on all of the rest of the Audigy line). If you really want a step up from the live you need to find at least an Audigy 2 value or up (and not an LS/DE either).
