Owned By Enemy Arty?

Am I the only one that gets owned more by arty than anything or anyone else? It seems like 8 out of every 10 of my deaths come from arty! Granted, I play mostly as a sniper since they neutered the Blackhawk with the last patch, so a certain amount of targeting by the enemy commander is understandable, but it’s really getting ridiculous!

Not only that, but sometimes it seems like there’s one flesh-seeking round in the barrage with my name on it. I’ll be lying where I think I’m safe, a couple hundred meters from the impact area, when the rogue flesh-seeker reaches out and touches me! To make it even worse, usually it’s the last round of the barrage!

So, has anyone else noticed this, or am I just LUCKY?

Stop standing next to me..... I must have have a sign on my back that says "Arty here" ... I could be in a group of 10 guys... they all live but not me.. and worst of all its always the last shell that gets me.

I play all different classes depending on what I feel like doing and ya, it seems like half my deaths are from arty and a shell always seems to find me.

I could be indoors and the bastard still gets me. I play Warlord in SF a lot and often just attack or defend the Palace. That way I won't be driven nuts with arty strikes.

If you have a static playing style and likes bunch up you are likely to get hit by arty not coming on flags that are being capped.

If you dislike getting killed by arty then just move.

I never get hit by artillery.. I've found this secret pattern.
Go to the middle of the bombing area when it starts. Wait 2 seconds.
Go 3 steps left. Wait 1 sec. Go 2 steps back..Wait 1 sec.. all safe! Needs practice though!

If you dislike getting killed by arty then just move.

Yeah, I guess that's what I should do, but I sacrifice myself by staying near the friendly troop concentrations and helping to watch their backs, instead of playing the hidden lone-wolf. This also allows them to watch MY back. I can't count the number of times one of my team mates has capped an angry enemy seeking revenge, just as they're about to sink the knife into my back.

I guess I can't have it both ways. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one experiencing the flesh-seeking rounds though!

Urgh Artillary - EVIL stuff.

I always get hit by artillary aswell, wherever it is placed somehow one lands on my head.. no matter how hard i press the shift button to sprint or how much i yell at my computer I always am the one to die by artillary.

The worst thing is whenever I am commander I can never seem to hit anyone with Artillay - they all seem to run away

Heh... no actually if I stood still I'd be ok.... cap flag... here the arty, scream go go go.... hop in the vehicle move about 10 yards and POW... the last frikin shell lands right on my noggin'

I'm not talking about lone wolfing I'm talking about constant movement. Cap a flag and then go to the next one. You will probably draw some fire when capping but that's unavoidable. Hopefully you have a squadleader that stays out of harms way and can respawn on him.

When I'm hit with arty it's usually when I'm bunched up or capping a flag. When capping a flag I expect arty but sometimes I forget about large groups of other people being bad for you and then I might curse some.

I generally feel like an arty magnet. People can cling to a wall and and a shell lands near them and lives, then the next shell will land across the outpost and its a direct hit on me. Im generally not safe in armour either. I think some people are just unluckier than others.

I feel like I'm the only one that seems to always get nailed by a direct hit from a single artillery shell.

Whenever I drive a tank, APC or even on foot the first or last artillery hit is directly on me.

The explosion radius is ridiculous on the artillery too. I've stood under a completly covered roof, only to get killed by artillery because it blew up right next to the door.

It's so true! I try to time my run into the area just as the last round hits, but no - it's way too often that one last shell that hits right in front of me.
